The opportunity to purchase Verdrefawr Marina was a gift to our breeding program. Imported and owned by Helen Bandy for the first 12 years of her life, Marina enjoyed a great life in Oregon and acquired a great show record with Supreme Championships and a National WPCSA High Point Mare Championship for the year. She also was trained to drive and we have picked up her driving this winter and are enjoying driving her. Visiting the farm where she was bred is going to be one of the highlights of our trip to Wales this summer. Marina was the unanimous 2017 American Grand Champion Section A and Res. Supreme UK judge.
Verdrefawr Marina ( Verdrefawr King Cole x Verdrefawr Miriam)
We were very fortunate to have a farm tour by Robert Jones of the farm his grandfather started with the Verdrefawr prefix. Marina came from a beautiful farm of rolling hills and trees alongside pastures of sheep. Such a lovely, peaceful place. We drove to the mountain where her grandfather lives with an older mare. Due to an injury he is no longer settling mares but his is Kind of the Mountain in all his glory. We thought Marina looked a lot like him. It was a thrill to see him.
