Jazz’s pedigree is historical-filled with ponies who dominated the showrings in the UK and USA in the Welsh Mountain Pony glory days of huge classes and a wealth of quality ponies.  His sire, Liseter Top Hat was a son of Liseter Carnelian, a well known sire of hunter ponies and listed on the sire list.  His dam, Glencoe Rhapsody, had an impressive halter winning record before retiring to the broodmare herd.  She was a beautiful mare as one would expect from the combination of Liseter Radiant, one of Mrs. du Pont’s beautiful driving ponies, and Liseter Sing Song LOM.  Jazz’s pedigree is a trifecta of – halter championships, the royal pedigree of the Liseter ponies and a willing, kind disposition. He is also a very powerful mover.

He has five crosses to one of my favorites, Clan Pip who Mrs. Jean Liseter Austin du Pont of the Liseter Farm pinned Royal Welsh Male Champion. She tried to purchase him but  Pip was not for sale.  She was sold a son of his out of Revel Caress a Royal Welsh champion mare – Revel Capip.  The sire of Liseter’s Top Hat’s dam is the incredibly beautiful Liseter Reveler.  The Liseter Farm bought several wonderful Coed Coch mares including Coed Coch Pelen who was the dam of Coed Coch Planned in the UK and dam of Liseter Radiant in the US for Mrs. du Pont.  Mrs. du Pont was in the favorable position of financially being able to purchase almost any pony in the world and she had a good eye.   Jazz is one of the last few stallions whose grandparents all carry the Liseter prefix.  Coed Coch,  Revel, Clan, Farnely, Bowdler, Criban, and Brierwood are also in  his pedigree.

Jazz is 12.1, athletic, typey, easy going and he is very pretty.  His pedigree is a wonderful Sunday afternoon trip for pedigree hounds.
